In a landmark day for our local soccer community, 60 players from 27 different towns converged on Davis to take part in the first ever FC Davis NPSL Open Tryout.
With a five year plan to make FC Davis progressively reflect the local soccer community, Sunday marked the first step in an effort to survey the current landscape for talent.
A break in the rain provided perfect weather for local players to showcase their skills and a chance to make the FC Davis roster.
Players were split into two sessions, a 10:00 - 12:00pm group and a 12:00 - 2:00pm group. Each session was divided into 8v8 games and an 11v11 match.
After evaluations, the top performers in each position were selected and placed on a team to compete against rostered FC Davis players for final evaluations.
