First Place Up For Grabs Saturday Night When FC Davis Hosts Napa Valley 1839

On Saturday night, FC Davis hosts Napa Valley 1839 in a clash that will either see Davis retain first place or see Napa Valley move into first place.

Both teams hold a game in hand over their Golden Gate competition and are separated by 2 points in the table.

Davis is coming off a heartbreaking loss to Sacramento Gold. A header in the waning minutes of regulation saw the Golden Lions drop points for the first time this season after countless chances went astray for the visitors.

Napa Valley is coming off a loss of their own when San Ramon held on for a 1-0 win despite a controversial non-call. Napa Valley appeared to have scored a goal after a 30 yard volley clanked off the crossbar and the down past the goal line, only to see no goal given.

Both clubs will look rebound when they take the pitch for the most important match of the season.

Davis travels to Napa for the final game of the regular season on Saturday, June 29th.

Saturday is AYSO night and the Golden Lions look forward to hosting our local soccer community for a fun night at Playfields!
