The Golden Lionesses finished out their last home game with 0-2 loss to a strong Lamorinda side Friday evening at Playfields. Despite the score line, Davis put in a valiant performance, concluding their impressive season with only one defeat at home.
FC Davis started off the game on the front foot, creating a promising chance within the first 30 seconds. Lamorinda would not stay quiet for long, however, taking the lead in the 13th minute and retaining possession throughout most of the remainder of the first half.
Shortly into the second period, the visitors doubled their advantage, striking in the 52nd minute. Following a period of constant Lamorinda pressure, Davis began to find a foothold in the game, creating chances and fighting the away side toe-to-toe the rest of the way.
In the final game of the regular season, FC Davis will take on Sacramento rivals California Storm at the Davis Legacy Soccer Complex on July 6th.
