After a 2021 NorCal only return-to-play series, FC Davis is charging into the 2022 season and back on the NPSL national circuit.
With back-to-back regular season titles in hand, Davis will look to make a run in the NPSL national playoffs, a feat which has remained elusive despite regular season success.
Beginning March 27th, the Lions will embark on a 10 game regular season with an expanded post-season kicking off in late June. The home opener for the men in black and gold takes place on Saturday, April 2nd when Sonoma County Sol visits Davis.
On May 7th, expansion club Oakland SC will make their first trip to the friendly confines of Playfields as the Lions host AYSO night. Oakland SC enters the NPSL after a successful run in the historic San Francisco Soccer League (SFSFL).
Additional 2022 schedule highlights include the Milk Can Cup against perennial rival Academica SC on May 21st followed by the Causeway Clasico against Sacramento Gold on June 4th. On June 18th, FC Davis will host Soccer Fest, a two game event that includes both men's and women's team matches in one night.
New for 2022 is an expanded conference playoff format that leads into the regional final. Eight of the nine Golden Gate Conference teams will be seeded for a single elimination knockout tournament where the winner will face the Northwest or Southwest winner in match to see who will move onto the NPSL National Final Four.
Season passes for the 2022 season are on sale now and include entry into all men's and women's NPSL and WPSL matches.
